We are now beginning our 2nd half of the semester. Students are expected to connect to the classroom folder for access to all classroom notes, quizzes, assigments, and readings. Please email me directly at: email@example.com for any questions or access to the folder.
At this point, we have now entering into our 2nd 4 weeks of school. Students were given progress reports to help them know where they stand in relation to academic progress at this point. If your child receives a grade lower than 70 on the assignment, the student must come to tutorial to resubmit the assignment. Their time in tutorial gives me the opportunity to work with them in small groups and clarify any misunderstandings and help them understand the material. This time also allows students to work in a quieter setting where they may feel more comfortable expressing themselves without all of their peers around. However, students must be seated and signed in by 3:45 pm in order to stay for tutorial. If they come from another teacher, they must get a pass from the previous tutorial teacher. All Power Points, handouts, and study guides will be placed in the Google Classroom. Please make sure your child connects to the Google Classroom using the code: fmlfnj. The website link is below:
Students can access the classroom by going through the APS homepage --Students--Google Classroom app.
I hope you are as excited as I am about the 2016-2017 school year! My motto this year is "NO FEAR". In life sometimes we are stifled, not by our inabilities or aptitudes, but simply because we are afraid! We miss opportunities, we lose out because we are afraid to take risks, we are afraid of what others may think of us or we are afraid of failure. This year we are letting go of our fears we are taking risks, we are being successful. In your World History class we will begin our journey around 500 BCE in East Africa and parts of the Middle East journeying to other civilizations until we end here in the 20th century studying globalization and the impact it has had on the world we know now. We will meet fascinating people, some you will love and some not so much, explore parts of the world you never knew existed, investigate events and predict what the world would be like had some things not happened! I look forward to this journey with you and hope you will enjoy it as much as I have! If you're ready, make sure you have your passport, imagination, and your detective skills as we go "Back?...to the Future".
